Default Cruising speed

Maybe one of you can answer this question for me. What is a good cruising speed for the 1100? Is cruising around at 80mph a bad idea? I'm not trying to race this thing all over the place but when traffic is cruising along at 80 I don't like being on the bike getting passed by everyone sometimes way to close. Thanks for your opinions

I do understand where you are coming from. It's no fun being passed by on the highway. Bikes ride so easy, you feel like you are flying.

I don't drive 80 mph ever. I love to go fast, but that is a bit too fast for me with no vehicle around me for protection.

Drive careful.

Be thankful! My mother in law is in town this week and she said coming from London that most people are always booting at about 80mph, go go go until there is a camera up ahead and then people slow down. I doubt I would attempt a nice bike ride in the UK after hearing the way some drive.

I've definitely seen people on the expressways cruising at 80 mph and more.

I'd expect that any bike including the 1100 could handle that, assuming there were no mechanical issues that needed attention.

I have never been on a bike going that fast. Call me chicken..lol It just makes me nervous.

I have friends that have no problem driving super fast on their bikes.

I think it's just a dangerous thing to do. I can get the feel of the wind do a safe 50..lol

The highway I ride speed limit is 70 to 75 and when the big rigs go by me i don't like it. I would rather be going by them. Road for 158 miles tonight. Honestly i don't care how fast I go I just love ridding!!

I never go above 70mph. I don't feel comfortable going any faster. I feel I have better control of the bike if I keep it a bit slower. I know plenty that ride faster than that on a daily basis though!

I can't stand for people to pass me. It drives me nuts. So I drive just faster than whatever everyone else is doing. It kinda scares me when someone comes at me from behind. Especially when they sneak up on you and you don’t know they are there until the last min.

I'm not sure which is worse, someone sneaking up behind you or someone trying to be friendly and scaring the $#!* out of you by honking their horn! LOL!
